I have been working on a new social networking website for a non-profit I support. Of course the site is created using Drupal. I am relatively new to Drupal, but I love it, and this was my first time using organic groups. I was looking for a group “contact us” form and I decided to use a view. I created a simple users view, passed it the organic group as an argument and filtered to just admins. I added a page to the view at path node/%/contacts and menu tab named “Contact Us”.

I was browsing through the book store a couple months ago and saw this book. Since I was in the Master of Healthcare Innovation (MHI) program at ASU, it seemed like a book I should read. The book is very interesting. I appreciate the authors' perspective on the important role disruption plays in healthcare reform. He offers many solutions that draw from examples in other industries. I find myself using it as a reference in many of my graduate school assignments.

Here is an amazing speech on the patient experience in healthcare. There are lots of opportunities for innovation in healthcare.

Last weekend I helped organize a volunteer effort for
Sunshine Acres Children's Home. About 25 students and alumni from the ASU W.P. Carey School of Business spent Saturday morning demolishing parts of an old house to get it ready for remodelling. It is amazing how much damage a determined group of MBAs can do in a few hours. There were no injuries, but lots of sore muscles. Everyone had a great time.

I finished working on a new website for the
Arizona Optimists. It is a Drupal site with a number of different types of content. It seems to work pretty well and the Optimists are happy so far. I have a list of changes to make already, of course. Web sites are living things that grow and evolve. It will be fun to see where this one goes.

The
White House web site is now running the open source content management system, Drupal. I’m a fan of both open source and Drupal, but this scares me. It seems like this paints a huge target on Drupal. There is a lot of downside risk here for the open source movement. It will be interesting to see how his plays out.

It took a couple phone calls to the old hosting service, but finally JerryNeild.com points to the same server as JerryNeild.info.

I started using a new theme for the website. I like the picture on the home page and I will change it from time to time. I changed to a different way of doing the blogs and can automatically push updates to my Twitter account.
